The TRaVEL scheme helps individuals build confidence by developing basic skills and gaining work experience in a safe and supportive environment.
The scheme consists of two key elements:
An eight-week classroom-based course to develop essential skills such as communication and teamwork.
A two-month volunteering placement to apply these skills in practice.
Participants receive dedicated support from a course tutor and a placement ‘buddy’. At the end of the scheme, guidance is provided to identify the next steps, which may include further volunteering, education or training courses, or exploring suitable employment opportunities.
